Pictues say it all!!

Under 11s Boys

After a couple of months of playing Futsal and having a hundred percent record through out, it was back to the league this week against Carterton. Bearing in mind it was the first proper 9v9 game on the grass since December, the whole squad did really well and got to grips with the bigger game very quickly; there were some really good performances throughout the team. Although we had a number of good opportunities to score in both halves, and despite a very competitive display from Carteron, Charlbury finished the game winning 1-0  after some great pressing from Wilf Robertson and a good finish by Euan Griffith from just outside the box midway through the second half. Having said that, Henry Ferguson-Hand pulled off a stunning save with two minutes to go to keep the score to 1-0. Next week sees the start of the cup with a home game against Banbury Irish.

U14s 3-2 Ducklington

Amid fixtures congestion, the U14s hosted top of the table Ducklington at Charlbury on a very muddy pitch. It was always going to be a battle and Charlbury edged a tight encounter with goals from Lewis Preterious (2) and Billy Sweet. Charlbury were always ahead and looked comfortable at 3-1 before conceding an own goal with 10 minutes to go. Great effort from both teams but top of the table honours back to Charlbury – for now at least!!
