Week 7 – Goals galore for U13s as they chase down Hooky

Under 13 Charlbury 7-0 Freeland

The u13’s overcame a spirited Freeland side this weekend, securing the three points with a 7-0 win. Toby Ball led the way with a hat-trick, supported by a brace by Vernon Cox, one from Tyra Aitken, and Scott Neal also scoring on his return from long-term injury. A slow start to the season (as usual) has left them with too much to do as defending champions, but a win against current leaders Hook Norton after half term would bring them to within two points of their old friends/rivals. After a very inconsistent start, both coaches are looking forward to a weekend off next weekend!

U16 Girls – Kidlington 0-4 Charlbury 4

After last weeks disappointment of losing in the last minute in the county Cup, normal service was resumed with a dominating and impressive display against Kidlington. First half goals from Imi and Nayah, set a good platform with Imi adding to her tally in the second half and Tiye getting on the score sheet.

Girl of the game : Sophia Cox

Under 11 Girls

The U11 girls played their match on Saturday morning at a soggy Banbury against Easington. The game started slowly but then built into a great game. Several super moves were built out from defence with both Evie and Fran going close. We reached half time without any goals being scored. The second half was a different matter. Fran scored two super goals that were the pick of a number of great moves from the girls that kept the Easington keeper very busy. Other highlights included Molly W hitting the woodwork again and a Millie shot that went close…!

The second match of the day – played as a 9 a side friendly was comfortably won by Charlbury playing some super football. The match ended 1-0 with a goal from Matilda following a corner by Molly W.
