Charlbury U13 3-3 Ducklington
The u13’s welcomed a high quality and in form Ducklington team to Nine Acres. A fast start from the home side was rewarded with an early lead from a Tyra Aitken goal, lobbing the keeper when put through by Toby Ball. Midway through the second half the away sides excellent passing game began to take control, and they scored twice to go into the break 2-1 ahead. Charlbury came back with another Tyra goal, finishing off a Toby cross, only for Ducklington to then retake the lead with a speculative 20 yard shot. Charlbury however continued pressing, and finished the game the stronger side, earning a deserved point with an Ollie Jarvis goal late on – Toby completing his hat trick of assists. A very entertaining game of football with some real quality on show
The U11 Girls second home match of the season was played on a soggy saturday morning against a strong Didcot Casuals side. Captain for the week was our super defender; Grace. The match was slow to start but soon warmed up and included a number of fantastic moves from the girls that led to chances being created; Molly W had a fizzing shot tipped onto the bar, Molly J hit the post, Evie had a chance cleared off the line and Fran continually ran through Didcot’s defence. The match ended in a narrow 0-1 defeat with the Didcot coach agreeing a draw would be a fairer result. Great credit to Didcot who played good football and were exceptionally team spirited. Player of the match was Matilda with an exceptional second half performance, reliable at the back and strong in bringing the ball out of defence.
The second match of the day – played as an 8 a side friendly was again an even match but did see Charlbury playing some super football in the first half. The match ended 2-2 with super goals from Molly J and Molly W.

U16 County Cup – Tower Hill 3-2 Charlbury U16 Girls
Charlbury came just the wrong side of a pulsating game in West Witney. Sophia Cox got the game off to a fantastic start with a low drive into the corner of the Tower Hill net. However, Tower immediately replied with a long range effort that hit the top corner of the Charlbury net . 1-1 within 10 minutes! It stayed that way with Charlbury having slightly more of the possession until Abbie Thorn followed up her shot from a corner to toe poke the ball over the goal line. Charlbury should have then closed out the game, hitting the bar and seeing the ball run right across the Tower goal line without going in. They then got caught twice with blistering pace from the Tower front line running from wide on the left to cut in and somehow get the ball over the Charlbury line, the last goal being scored with 39 mins 45 seconds gone. Heartbreak all round but a great performance.
